Welcome to the 2024 Manchester School of Architecture end of year exhibition which this year is back in the familiar surroundings of the Chatham Building where our studios used to be based until our move to the Manchester Technology Centre.

On display is the student work from across the School, including the first and second years of BA Architecture, our seven vertical ateliers which feature the work of both BA3 and M.Arch students, as well as the Master of Landscape Architecture. Our other programmes, MA Architecture & Urbanism, and MA Architecture & Adaptive Reuse are also featured along with numerous other aspects of the School.

As ever, it's been a very exciting year in the School with the launch of our Foundation in Architecture programme and the RIBA validation of our Part 3 programme, Architecture & Contemporary Practice, as well as other initiatives such as MSA Collective that pulls together all of our extra curricular and cultural events, and Design Chats which offers students across the School additional design and technology tutorials.

Our Visiting Professor team was also expanded with the appointments of David Rudlin (Urbanism), Ben Kelly (Adaptive Reuse), and Tom Bloxham (Urban Regeneration). We’ve also been joined by a number of renowned Architects for our Masterclass series, including Stephen Hodder (Hodder & Partners), Paul Williams (Stanton Williams), Sue Emms (BDP), Phil Coffey (Coffey Architects), Melissa Clinch (Wilkinson Eyre), and Hazel Rounding (Shed KM).

In April we received the fantastic news that the School had been ranked 5th in the prestigious QS World University Rankings for Architecture for the second year in a row, reinforcing our highest ever position.

We’d like to thank all of the staff from both institutions, visiting tutors, speakers, practices, organisations, and community groups who’ve contributed to our curriculum this year, we are so grateful for your continued support into our academic community. We are also very grateful to our sponsors and all of the practices that fund the prestigious end of year prizes.

And finally, the School would of course be nothing without our amazing students whose dedication, hard work, and ability makes us what we are. This is a time of year when the staff join their friends and family in being incredibly proud of them and their achievements, congratulations to you all.

We hope you enjoy viewing the work of our incredible students!
