In late June 2023 the workshop team headed abroad to host the MAKING SCALE symposium at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Full footage of the event including further information about the ongoing project can be found on the B.15 Blog page. Also externally, our project with the Royal Albert Hall was officially added to their first ever archive where it will be available for research and future public display.

In the summer months the team undertook a huge amount of reorganisation to take over former archive spaces adjacent to the main B.15 workshop space. This allowed the relocation of larger woodworking equipment and materials storage which enabled better arrangement of machines and additional desk spaces in the main workspace. Other significant changes were the addition of soundproof bi-folding doors around the CNC machine, a display window into the model store and a new custom-made dust extraction system to all of the main workshop equipment. The increased space has enlarged capacity for recycled materials which students have been able to make use of as a primary source for work both in and out of the workshop.

This year we celebrate 10 years of the B.15 Modelmaking Awards with 10 student prizes and a double practice collaboration with Stanton Williams and HENN. We look forward to presenting past projects and some examples from past schemes as part of this years degree show. Thank you to all our collaborators for supporting student modelmaking work over the past decade.

Last but not least we welcomed new team members Teagan Dorsch and of course, baby Alba.
