A feminist approach in sustaining Kumbharwada's identity amidst vertical development
As an architect, I am driven by the belief that architecture holds the potential to inspire social transformation. I see my role not merely as a designer but as a catalyst for positive change within communities. By creating spaces that promote inclusivity, well-being, and the flourishing of individuals and groups, architecture can help shape a more equitable society. In today's fast-paced, mass-produced society, the preservation of personal and cultural identity is of paramount importance.
My thesis project, which focuses on interventions in Kumbharwada through a feminist lens, addresses the challenge of sustaining identity amidst vertical urban growth. This design strives to balance the city's need for vertical expansion with the preservation of social connections and cultural heritage. It encourages interactions and social exchanges across different vertical levels, thereby maintaining and celebrating the unique culture and identity of Kumbharwada.
