Liberty Reapers

My Liberty Reapers Thesis Project delves into the hidden truths of the 19th Century Gilded Age—a period often perceived as golden yet rife with corruption. During this era, the prevalent architectural style was Beaux-Arts Classicism, characterized by intricate stonework and lavish ornamentation, reflecting an era of extravagant design unconstrained by budget limitations.

This project critically examines the social class divide and seeks justice for Lizzie Magie, the original creator of the Monopoly board game, whose patent was appropriated by Charles Darrow. Central to my narrative is the rise and fall of monopolies, depicted through a design proposal situated in the New York harbor on Liberty Island in 1886.

My aim is to ignite a passion for storytelling and world-building by inviting you to an extravaganza event at the newly constructed Liberty Reapers Theatre and Arena on Liberty Island. This event promises to unite all social classes under the banner "my mercy prevails over my wrath," fostering a sense of unity and reflection on the societal dynamics of the Gilded Age.
