Evergreen Gateway: A Biophilic Solution to Residential Living
Manifesto: To design an interconnected residential community with a shared commons utilising the theories of biophilic design whilst fulfilling the requirements of the PfE document to deliver affordable housing and improve the greenbelt range.
The PfE document is the Places for Everyone aims and goals set out by the Manchester City Council to imrpove the capacity of manchester in preperation of it being a global city by 2035. The biophilic design priciples are a way to ensure that these goals are beneficial to the well-being of new residents to the city. It involves methods of connecting spaces to nature and bringing nature into a space through the senses of touch, sight, sound and smell.
The end product results in a residential project where people are interconnected with nature and their communitie strengthening their bonds to both.
