MSA LIVE 22 is the latest in Manchester School of Architecture’s annual programme of collaborative student-led live projects. Each year the Manchester School of Architecture runs the MSA LIVE programme to unite BA1, BA2 and MLA1 students with MArch1 postgraduates in mixed-year teams. MArch1 students engage in practice-based research to organise projects, working with external partners locally and globally to create social impact beyond architectural education.

This year approximately 550 students from 4 cohorts in MSA have worked on 35 projects with over 100 external collaborators and organisations. Activities, agendas and outcomes are documented on the MSA LIVE 22 blog. Topics are wide ranging, and this year included alternative housing, cultural retrofit, heritage recovery, nuclear-free status, the digital skills gap, LGBT+ heritage, play space and public space design, the year of the child, building re-use strategies, green infrastructure, biodiversity and garden design.

We are always interested in finding new collaborators so if you have a project, you would like to work with MSA students on, please get in touch msalive@mmu.ac.uk
