As a member of the feminist atelier, my design looked at the LGBTQ community and focused on the drag scene specifically. The project aims to provide a gathering place for people into drag, a place to be themselves, a place that doesn't care about gender, age, or sexual identity. The highlight of the scheme is the ballroom in the center, which is the place to celebrate drag culture. This project intends to introduce people to drag and also bring the group that is being neglected under the spotlight.
As a designer, I believe this professional holds greater responsibilities than just design, and we should also use design as a tool to stress social issues, help with minority groups. I also pay particular attention to the sustainable aspects of the building in order to help fight climate change.
