OFF-GRID URBAN AGRICULTURE CENTRE IN AETOS

The design of the agriculture building aligns closely with the objectives of the "Off-grid Urban Agriculture" masterplan, emphasizing sustainable development and local growth. Key features of the project include a seawater desalination system and a transportation port, both integrated with the canal outlined in the masterplan. The building's core functions, such as a warehouse and an indoor farm, remain faithful to the overall theme, supporting local agriculture through systems like water collection, solar power generation, and export facilities. Sustainability is a central focus, achieved through economic, social, and environmental considerations. The building not only contributes to local economic development but also promotes sustainable practices that benefit the community and the environment. The form of the building continues the geometric approach of the masterplan, symbolizing a self-sufficient agricultural utopia, while also incorporating free-form structures to create a more welcoming environment for both people and the city. This dual approach balances functionality with aesthetics, enhancing the overall experience for users.

Significant progress has been made in architectural drawings and visualizations, demonstrating a marked improvement from previous studio work. The use of digital tools, encouraged by the prototype lab, has greatly enhanced the quality of renders and presentations.
