Studio B & C
Studio B- This project aims to revitalize the urban landscape around River Irwell in Salford, Manchester, currently marred by abandoned factories, unused flood-prone areas, and debris. By implementing strategic urban designs, it seeks to facilitate human interaction with the river, enhance environmental conditions, alleviate housing pressures, and foster sustainable development. The project will transform the riverside into a thriving, resilient community hub, creating accessible, multifunctional public spaces that engage the community and respect the natural ecosystem. This transformation will reconnect people with the river and foster a vibrant, ecologically balanced urban area, serving as a model for urban renewal.
Studio C- This project has been a comprehensive exploration of how urban design can significantly improve living conditions while respecting and integrating the historical context of the site. The primary objectives of the project were clear: to enhance the living conditions on the west bank of the river through targeted interventions, to harmonize the new development with the area‘s light industrial heritage, to create an environmentally friendly, sustainable, and safe co-housing neighborhood, and to foster community cohesion through the design of compact, shared spaces.
