Walkable Community
Located at Manchester's northern gateway, the site's road connectivity and amenities are very pedestrian unfriendly, and residents must reach the city centre to meet their daily needs. There are no facilities to encourage walking in the community, and the residents living here are very inconvenient and the community lacks vitality.
Through a large number of theoretical and precedent studies, the design draws a series of strategies such as re-planning community roads, setting up houses of different densities, increasing public activity space and living conveniences such as shops, restaurants, bars, etc., to improve the walkability of suburban communities and increase the vitality of suburban communities.
