The Journey of [GM] Crops Cultivation

Our project extends beyond mere construction; it aims to establish an environment that fosters the exploration, understanding, and dissemination of information regarding genetically modified crops. The primary aim of this thesis is to completely transform the field of structural engineering by developing groundbreaking building materials. Together with Tengku Nurul Nasfakhira, we are conducting an investigation into the transformative potential of genetically modified (GM) crops in enhancing food availability and improving consumer nutrition. The Genetic Modified Crop Research Centre at Elterwater, Cumbria, demonstrates a progressive approach that surpasses traditional research methods, acknowledging the intricate nature and broader consequences of genetic modifications.

The GM Crops Hub features advanced labs and technologies to enhance crop traits, boost production, and tackle global challenges like climate change and food security. Our seed production facilities ensure high-quality GM seeds, thereby supporting sustainable agriculture. By integrating outdoor, greenhouse, and vertical farming, we optimise land use and conserve resources. The Education and Learning Center offers essential training for informed GM crop use.

Working on this final design thesis alongside my partner has been an illuminating experience. Their invaluable contributions in graphics, ideas, and concepts have led to a thorough and speculative investigation, far surpassing my individual capabilities. This collaboration has deepened my introspection regarding my role in shaping sustainable futures and demonstrated how scientific inquiry can address pressing social issues.

This project has expanded my perspective, instilling a sense of duty to promote environmental stewardship and economic resilience. I have learned the importance of interdisciplinary approaches and community engagement in driving positive change. Upon reflection of my contributions, the interconnectedness of human prosperity and planetary well-being inspires me to persist in advocating for sustainable practices. This project exemplifies our commitment to advancing agricultural technology while honouring the cultural and environmental heritage of the site.
