Versatility in Architecture
The design is an immediate response to housing or (more commonly) spatial crisis in Berlin which is prevalent in many cities worldwide. This has resulted in diminished space available per person , both private and shared public spaces. The aim of the design is to harness the potential of versatile spaces that accomodate many different functions, is used by many users during different times according to their needs through tactical urbanism.
Tactical urbanism supports small scale, immediate , low-cost interventions that can be made by users themselves according to their everyday needs that maximizes spatial utilization. The design also aims to improve a safe, vibrant and cohesive neighbourhood community.
