Appleby Castle Bank Park is a flood alleviation project designed for Appleby, Cumbria. The proposal was made to be flexible and replicable as one of the design principles. It allows the project to be adjusted and applied to other sites with flooding issues. The replication of the design could happen across the region to help with the matter of flooding.
On the other hand, the project aimed to provide an opportunity to access and learn about nature. ''Enhance the harmony of nature and humanity's co-existence'' is the project's manifesto. Include humanity and nature. Taking natural habitats and people from diverse backgrounds conditions into account while designing. Not just the way of getting to the design but also the experience and willingness to access. Assisting in educating the community that could value and respect to consider nature as part of them. Consolidate daily activities on the human and nature side to blur the boundary.
