Manston Immigration Centre
The Manston Migrant Processing Centre opened in January 2022 to face the increasing small boat arrivals, but the huge amount of asylum seekers is putting a lot of pressure on the Manston Migrant Processing Centre.
It creates problems of overcrowding, inhumane and expensive. Due to the lack of space and resources, immigrants not only live in poor conditions but also in a depressed atmosphere. To solve these problems, the project redesigns the Manston Migrant Processing Centre and aims to establish a sustainable immigrant communities network that can provide self-support of space and resources to deal with the periodic swelling of the irregular immigrant population.
