The Wave
A cornerstone to progress, 'The Wave' is a testament to the power of learning, a vision for the commitment to education and community awareness. The project seamlessly merges the student academic experience with the real-life scenarios of physiotherapy clinics.
The health hub coordinates a public programme that provides a pharmaceutical and clinical service led by students for the on-site community. It aims to offer dynamic and immersive training for the Faculty of Health trainees while integrating their skills within an on-campus clinic. Not only does this approach foster the students' minds, but it also encourages employment growth, innovation and economic revitalisation.
Through mentorship programmes and working alongside professionals, students gain the necessary skills and confidence to excel in their future careers. The proposal becomes, therefore, a nurturing environment for curiosity, inspiring students to push their boundaries and give back to the community.
My particular interest in user engagement has shaped this proposal into an interactive experience that sheds the formality of a traditional clinical space while keeping the associated professionalism. Consequently, students, professionals and the public have access to an array of social and leisure areas that facilitate engagement, interaction and collaboration.
The users also benefit from state-of-the-art facilities, such as:
- resistance pools
- simulation
- wards
- motion capture
- laboratories
- saunas
- hydrotherapy pools
- virtual reality suites
My passion for 3D-modelling software such as Revit and Rhino has facilitated designing this proposal. The ability to quickly create interior views allowed me to showcase my concepts and ideas, critically assessing the results and iterating them for the best final output.
