This is the research and design of historical blocks renewal and protection. The project is located in Kaifeng, Province Henan in mid-China. Kaifeng is a historical-cultural city. The site is in the city centre, and there are lots of historic blocks in this area. Furthermore, there are some ancient buildings. The focus of the book is the renewal of residential buildings and the protection of historical elements. There are many difficulties in the humanity and environment field in this area, and some of them seriously hinder the development of the region. Studio B researches these issues and tries to analyse the characteristics according to the requirements from residents in local and visitors. Studio C gives the design and strategy to come up with a solution.
