Din Daeng Social Housing Community
Over nine thousand units of affordable housing have been situated in Din Daeng Community since 1973. Because of the over-dense, poor spatial quality, and inefficient land use, in 1992, the National Housing Authority proposed plans to rehabilitation these housing and the urban areas. However, in 2019, the progress is still in the very first phase.
Thus, this project proposes redesigning the community's strategies and masterplan to create a sustainable social housing hub that belongs to people who live here and newcomers who will contribute new vibrant to the community. It also provides new public spaces and public infrastructures to improve the area's existing potentials. In addition, the project offers shared spaces where residents, visitors from the commercial area, and neighborhoods can meet and practice to promote differences.
