Hive is a social housing scheme that welcomes refugees from all over the world to Stretford Road, Manchester. Hive provides a safe environment for the refugees which supports their development and enables them to live a fulfilled life which is not dictated by their previous life events.
This project aims to reintegrate refugees into a new society by providing opportunities to meet people, study, learn new skills and gain employment. The scheme is focused around communal spaces that allow residents to develop familiarity, share skills and form a new type of family away from home.
I am very passionate about supporting local communities through Architectural design. Perhaps through buildings and social initiatives that bring people together.
