Sandeep B. Menon is a practicing landscape architect and academician based in Manchester. He is a part of the Editorial Advisory Panel of Landscape, the quarterly Journal of the Landscape Institute, UK. Sandeep is also a member of the ISOLA Education Board, India. He holds a Master of Landscape Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture Degree from the School of Planning and Architecture Delhi (SPAD) India.
Prior to moving to the United Kingdom, he was a core faculty member and undergraduate programme coordinator at the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture and Environmental Studies (KRVIA), University of Mumbai. He was also the Landscape Design Director at JDAP, Mumbai and Integral Designs International Studio, New Delhi. He has worked on landscape design and masterplanning projects of varying scales in various bio-geographies. His work addresses the ideas of natural processes, local ecology and native planting.
He was also involved with the European Union Erasmus Plus research project for ‘Building Resilient Communities’ (BReUCom) and the World Resources Institute (WRI) initiated Research on Urban Mobility in Mumbai. His interests range from ecological urbanism, landscape ecology, socio-ecological resilience, sustainable urban water management, ecological corridors and wetland systems.
