Hidden currents
Hidden Currents reveals the invisible systems powering artificial intelligence. Challenging the monolithic nature of conventional data centres, the project decentralises AI infrastructure into lightweight rainwater-harvesting pavilions with integrated AI data racks that monitor surrounding habitats and environmental conditions. Through a closed-loop water system, waste heat generated by the network is recycled into a public wellness centre with thermal pools and surrounding ecological systems. During periods of extreme cold weather, excess heat is redirected into ponds to help maintain habitable conditions for native species. Framed through post-humanist thinking, the scheme questions who benefits from technology while proposing architecture that supports both human leisure and non-human life.
