This project addresses the urban challenge of fostering an ecologically and culturally resilient community in Aetos, a coastal agricultural town in the bay of Karystos, Greece. The increasing intensity of summer heat and strong northern winds pose a significant wildfire threat to the residents, biodiversity, and habitats of Karystos. To combat this, the project aims to create an ecologically integrated landscape mosaic, strategically placed wetlands, and sensitively designed wine culture center within the wineyards. These measures aim to mitigate wildfire spread, preserve habitats for endangered species, and support sustainable agricultural practices, such viniculture. Ultimately, creating a vibrant and self-sustaining community in Aetos.
