BUILDING PROSTHETICS
‘Building Prosthetics’ aims to create prosthetics out of demolition waste. Demolition waste is curated off site to then transport into the silos within the building (seen in the southern elevation with 3 exterior ladders for access). The silos contain valves within the research offices to allow researchers to experiment with materiality when creating prosthetics. As well as researching prosthetic building, this proposal will facilitate a rehabilitation and consultation spaces for clients to get their prosthetics made on site. Finally, athletes like Paralympians can come to experiment with their prosthetics with the researchers and test their performance.
