Erasing Edges: A Life Within Corridors
About me
As a graduate architect with a passion for urbanism, I focus on designing environments that enhance everyday life. I approach each project with a sensitivity to context, crafting people-centered solutions that respect the cultural and environmental layers of a place. For me, architecture and urban design are like solving a complex puzzle, where each piece—whether a building, landscape, or street—is meticulously crafted to fit seamlessly into its environment.
My academic and professional experiences have deepened my commitment to socially sustainable design, emphasising the creation of spaces that foster stronger, more connected communities. I believe that thoughtful design has the power to shape positive urban growth, reflecting the values of the people it serves.
About the project
This project revitalises Kipsala Island in Riga through a masterplan that fosters integration with its surroundings, strengthens social cohesion, and enhances connectivity. By transforming the riverfront and improving internal links, the project redefines Kipsala as a sustainable urban model within Riga.
Key Features:
- A masterplan that reconnects the island’s south side with neighboring areas through pedestrian pathways, public spaces, and green corridors.
- Adaptive reuse of historic buildings alongside new communal spaces like markets, parks, and cultural hubs.A mixed-use, cooperative hub that promotes social exchange through multifunctional spaces such as co-working corridors, community exchange zones, and green spaces.
- Public realm improvements enhanced through green corridors, social hubs, pedestrian-friendly pathways, and vibrant public spaces that foster social interaction and community engagement.
The project reimagines how cities can break down physical and social barriers, fostering a more inclusive and connected urban environment.
