New Urban Centre for Riga Latvia
As an architect & urban designer with a human-centric and contextual approach, I believe that architecture must not only respond to the immediate needs of its users but also anticipate the future, crafting spaces that are sustainable, functional, and reflective of the local culture. My work is rooted in enhancing the human experience through thoughtful design. I am continuously refining my skills and seeking opportunities where I can contribute to projects that shape the built environment in meaningful and lasting ways.
The Project proposes a new centre for Riga. This project addresses the gap in the current situation of Riga with the shrinking population and decreasing econmic activity. This proposal looks at Kipsala Island as an area of immense potential to create a centre for economic and cultural growth of the city. The concept behind the master plan is called the INTERLACE. It looks at Kipsala from the perspective of creating a new public realm and establishing a strong connection with Riga. The project focuses on three key concepts - Reclaiming Local - Works on the existing heritage of wooden houses Reclaiming access - Works on creating connections within Kipsala and Riga Reclaiming function - Add new functions to bring in more people. The Cultural Marina acts as the main anchor in Kipsla that intends to draw attention towards the island through various local and progress actvitites. The Marina celebrated the local culture of sailing and the handicrafts of Latvia.
