In the context of the environmental crisis of global warming, there is a clear conflict between urban development and low-carbon trends. The aim of the project is to find out how to achieve efficient urban development within a limited carbon budget. The project is based on the eastern gateway in Manchester and explores the theoretical basis of The limit of the growth. By optimising the energy efficiency of buildings and energy generation, the project seeks to strike a balance between low carbon and development by developing a new parametric low-carbon urban design tool within the existing technology.
