Revival Of Spiritual Farming
My Project explores ways in which we can tackle current issues such as food disconnect, food crisis, health and unemployment; as identified as a foundation of requirements to help society build. When researching Cumbria’s history in farming and initial agriculture - monasteries played in big role in turning farming into an industry whilst at the same time improving the quality of the land to grow on. I took this information and did a dive into monastic architecture and how the Cistercian Architectural elements were the crux to the monastatic living. My project then taking the monastic ethos and proposing a research centre - The researchers live and work together, this being the driving force of the how the research is carried out as it creates a connection between people in a space that is designed to create a sense of focus.
